Knitted Christmas Tree Bunting

Free Easy to Knit Tree Bunting Pattern


Tree Bunting The ones in the picture use two strands of double knit together to make a chunky yarn and 6mm needles but you could use double knit yarn and 4 mm needles to make smaller trees.

Make a loop. Row 1: Inc.(see below) Row 2: Inc. in both stitches Row 3: Knit all the stitches Row 4: Knit all the stitches *Row 5: Increase in the first stitch, knit to the last stitch, inc. Row 6: Knit all the stitches Row 7: Knit all the stitches* *Repeat these three rows until there are 16 stitches* Cast off 5 stitches, knit 6, cast off the remaining stitches. Cut the yarn and feed it back through the last loop - pull tight. Join a new colour to the remaining 6 stitches. Knit 4 rows. Cast off. Sew on decorations and either peg or tie onto strings.

Inc. - Knit into the front of the stitch, do not slip the stitch off the needle, put the needle back into the stitch and knit it again to make another stitch.
